The perimeter

The footage that matters was recorded outside

When an industrial break-in gets reviewed, the internal cameras almost always show the same thing: a figure in dark clothing, hood up, already inside, already moving. Nothing identifiable, because by then they have been on site for several minutes and they know where the cameras are.

The identification happens at the fence, at the gate, at the vehicle. A multi-head camera on a mast covering the approach gives you a plate, a face before the hood goes up, and a direction of travel. That is the difference between an insurance claim and a police result.

Add analytics-driven active deterrence — a floodlight and a spoken warning the moment someone crosses the line — and a large share of attempts end at the fence.

Docks & gates

Every door that opens should leave a record

Most warehouses can tell you what was picked and what was dispatched. Very few can tell you which personnel door opened at 4:40am, or who was in the parts store on Sunday.

Door contacts on the alarm, card readers on back-of-house doors and plate recognition at the gate turn every movement into a timestamped event with footage beside it. Stock discrepancies that used to take a week of arguing get resolved in ten minutes.

  • Plate recognition at the gateKnown vehicles through automatically, everything else logged.

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers to the questions we get asked most. If yours isn't here, call us on 0433 633 777 — you'll speak to a technician, not a call centre.

What does warehouse security cost in Melbourne?

A standard 1,000 to 2,000 square metre unit with perimeter cameras, zoned alarm and access control on two personnel doors typically runs $12,000 to $25,000 installed. Larger distribution sites with yard poles, plate recognition on the gate and multiple docks move well past that. The quote itemises every camera, pole, sensor and cable run so you can see exactly where the money goes.

Should cameras go on the building or on poles?

Both, for different jobs. Building-mounted cameras cover the docks, personnel doors and immediate apron. Pole or mast-mounted multi-head cameras out in the yard are what give you the approach, the fence line and vehicle movement — the footage that tells you how they got in, not just that they did. Poles also let you cover a yard that has no building edge near it.

How do you secure roller doors?

Roller door contacts on the alarm so a door lifting after hours is an instant activation, cameras framed on the door from inside and out, and where the risk warrants it, a beam or radar across the apron. Roller doors are the single most common entry point on industrial sites because a bare door with no contact simply is not monitored by anything.

Can the alarm work around night shift and cleaners?

Yes. The panel partitions the site so the warehouse floor can be live for a shift while the office, parts store and server room stay armed. Cleaners get a code that opens only their area. Every arm and disarm is logged against a person, so if a zone was disarmed at 3am you know who did it without asking anyone.

Do you do number plate recognition on gates?

Yes. Plate recognition on an entry gate or boom lets known vehicles through automatically and logs everything else, which is worth doing on any site with regular transport movements. Read accuracy depends heavily on camera angle, mounting height and lighting at the gate, so it is specified as its own camera rather than expecting a general-purpose one to cope.

What about a yard or compound with no power nearby?

Rapid-deploy CCTV masts with their own power and 4G connection cover compounds, container yards and staged construction sites. They can be relocated as the site develops and removed at practical completion. Add active deterrence — a light and a spoken warning triggered by analytics — and most intruders leave before they reach anything.

Can you cover a high bay warehouse properly?

High bay is a lens and mounting problem more than a camera problem. Mounted too high and you record the tops of heads; mounted at racking height you get identification but a narrow field. We generally combine overview cameras at height for movement with identification cameras at door and aisle-end level, which is far more useful than a ceiling full of expensive units.

Do you work with the electrical contractor during a fitout?

Regularly. Getting security and structured cabling designed in at the right construction stage saves real money and keeps every cable concealed. We coordinate with the electrical trade, work to the program, and hand over as-built documentation at completion.
