The audit
What we actually check
Not a sales walk-through. A technical inspection with findings you can act on — even if you act on them with someone else.

Camera coverage and blind spots
Where the cameras are actually pointing versus where the risk is, plus lens, height and lighting suitability at each position.
Recording retention and storage
How many days you genuinely have, whether every channel is recording, and hard-drive health and remaining life.
Sensor performance and placement
Detector coverage, working life, and the placement issues that cause the false alarms nobody wants to deal with.
System configuration
Zones, user codes, schedules, outputs and integrations — what was programmed versus what everyone assumes is programmed.
Network health and segmentation
PoE budget, switch capacity, VLAN separation and whether security devices are exposed on the business network.
Written report
Findings, photos and prioritised recommendations, including the things you do not need to spend money on.
Why we do it free
Because half the time you don't need a new system
Many systems fail due to poor setup, not poor hardware. A camera that drifted, a sensor pointed at a heater, storage sized for eight cameras when there are sixteen — these are configuration problems with configuration fixes.
Quoting a replacement is easy. Telling someone their existing system is fine and needs a $400 service instead is how you end up with clients who have been with you since 2014. We would rather be the company you call for the next twenty years than the one that sold you something once.
- No obligationKeep the report, get other quotes, or do nothing at all.
- Written, with photosNot a verbal opinion you cannot act on or share with a committee.
- PrioritisedWhat is urgent, what can wait, what is not worth doing.
- Covers everythingCCTV, alarm, access control, intercom and the network underneath.

Answers
Frequently asked questions
Straight answers to the questions we get asked most. If yours isn't here, call us on 0433 633 777 — you'll speak to a technician, not a call centre.
Is the audit really free?
Yes. A technician attends, inspects and writes it up, and you keep the report. There is no fee, no obligation and no follow-up sales campaign. We do it because roughly half the sites we audit turn out to need a repair or reconfiguration rather than a new system — and that honesty is how we get referrals.
How long does the audit take?
Around 45 to 90 minutes on a typical small commercial site. Larger sites with multiple buildings, or access control across many doors, take longer. The written report follows within a couple of business days.
What if I do not have a system yet?
Then the audit becomes a design walk-through instead: we map risk points, entry routes, sight lines, lighting, cable paths and network availability, then quote a system built around what we found rather than a package price.
Will you criticise the previous installer?
We report what we find, factually, with photos. Sometimes the previous work is fine and the problem is that nobody maintained it. Sometimes it genuinely was installed badly. Either way you get the facts rather than a sales narrative.
What is the most common problem you find?
Recording retention far shorter than the owner believes — often four or five days instead of the thirty they assume. Close behind: cameras that have drifted off their intended view, alarm zones nobody arms because of false triggers, and security devices sitting on an unsegmented business network.
Do you audit networks as well?
Yes. Advanced network architecture audits are part of what we do — switch and VLAN structure, PoE budget, Wi-Fi coverage, and whether security devices are properly segmented from business traffic.
Can the audit help with insurance?
Often. A documented assessment plus a maintenance plan with written service reports is exactly the evidence insurers look for, and stronger documented security can reduce premiums.
Which suburbs do you audit?
All metropolitan Melbourne. Bookings are quickest through the south-east and east — Dandenong, Keysborough, Hallam, Nunawading and Ringwood.
