What we install in retail
Five things that move the shrinkage number
A retail system earns its keep at four points: the entry, the till, the stock room door and the dock. Everything else is decoration.
- 01 Public view monitors Customers see themselves on screen at entry — the cheapest deterrent in retail.
- 02 Point of sale coverage Cameras framed on the transaction, not the ceiling, so voids and refunds can be reviewed.
- 03 Stock room & dock control Card access on back-of-house doors with a full audit trail of who went where.
- 04 Monitored alarms Zoned so cleaners and early staff never need to disarm the whole store.
- 05 Duress & hold-up buttons Discreet buttons at the counter that call a graded control room, not a mobile.
The till is the blind spot
Most shops are covered everywhere except where the money is
Walk into almost any independent retailer in Melbourne and you will find cameras in the corners of the room, looking down at the tops of people's heads. Useful for confirming a theft happened. Useless for saying who did it.
The camera that matters looks at the counter from behind the customer, at roughly face height, with enough light on the subject to hold detail. Add one on the stock room door and one on the rear exit and you have covered the three places where retail losses are actually created.
If you already have a system, the free security audit will tell you honestly whether it is recording, whether the coverage matches the risk, and what it would take to fix — in writing, whether you buy anything or not.

Trading hours
We work when the shop is shut
Nothing costs a retailer more than a security installer with a ladder in the middle of a Saturday. Ceiling access, cable runs, fixture drilling and commissioning all happen outside your trading window, and the price we quote is the price for doing it that way.
Shopping centre inductions, certificates of currency and landlord works permits are handled before we arrive. Our technicians turn up in a fully stocked vehicle so a missing bracket does not become a second visit and a second night of disruption.
- After close or before openQuoted that way from the start, not as a variation.
- Centre paperwork handledInductions, insurances and permits sorted in advance.
- Clean as we goFixtures protected, ceilings made good, no cable visible on a shop wall.
- Trained before we leaveYour staff shown how to arm, disarm and pull footage.

Frequently asked questions
Straight answers to the questions we get asked most. If yours isn't here, call us on 0433 633 777 — you'll speak to a technician, not a call centre.
How much does a retail security system cost in Melbourne?
A single shopfront with a monitored alarm, four to six cameras and a public view monitor generally lands between $4,500 and $9,000 installed, with monitoring from around $35 a month. A larger store with back-of-house coverage, dock cameras and access control on the stock room is usually $10,000 to $20,000. Every quote lists each camera, sensor and cable run separately so you can compare it against anyone else's.
Do public view monitors actually reduce theft?
They are one of the few deterrents with a visible effect on opportunistic theft, because the person sees themselves on screen the moment they walk in. They work best mounted at the entry and again at the highest-value fixture. They do nothing about organised or staff theft — that needs coverage at the till, the stock room and the loading door, which is why we rarely quote a monitor on its own.
Can you install without closing the shop?
Almost always. Most of our retail work happens after close, before open, or on a Sunday. Cabling through ceilings and behind fixtures is the noisy, disruptive part and it gets done out of hours. Tell us your trading window when you enquire and the quote is built around it — there is no after-hours surprise on the invoice.
How do I deal with staff theft without accusing anyone?
Coverage at the point of sale, the stock room door and the back dock, paired with access control that records who opened which door and when. Once every void, refund and after-hours door event can be tied to a person and a timestamp with footage beside it, the behaviour usually stops without a confrontation. When it does not, you have something an employment lawyer can actually use.
What camera coverage does a shop really need?
Entry and exit at face height, the till from behind the customer, the highest-value fixture, the stock room door, and the rear or dock door. Wide "overview" cameras looking down aisles feel reassuring and identify almost nobody. We would rather install five cameras placed properly than twelve pointed at the ceiling tiles.
Can I view all my stores from one login?
Yes. Multi-store is a normal request and the platforms we install handle it natively — one interface, one set of user permissions, and the ability to pull footage from any location without ringing a store manager. We roll stores out one at a time so you are never trading without security at more than one site.
Will my footage stand up as evidence?
Only if the resolution, frame rate, lighting and retention were designed for it. We specify cameras to identify a face at the point they enter, not just to show that a person existed. Thirty days of retention is our default for retail, and we export in the format Victoria Police ask for rather than a proprietary player nobody can open.
Do you work with shopping centre management?
Regularly. Centre landlords usually require an induction, a certificate of currency, an approved works window and sometimes a permit for ceiling access. We handle that paperwork as part of the job — it is one of the more common reasons a cheaper quote quietly turns into a delayed one.
