Nootz Security Services launched in 2014 and grew into a security installation company with skilled technicians and fully equipped vehicles — carrying stock to site so a job finishes on the day it was booked, not the week after.
With over 15 years of professional experience in the security technical field, Daniel Ruja heads up Nootz. He has been on the front line, and that shaped the team he built: professionally skilled, efficient, and genuinely pleasant to have on your site.

Nootz has delivered security and network work for Woolworths, Coles, Australia Post, Big W, the Reserve Bank of Australia, the City of Melbourne and Melbourne Building Management, along with early learning centres, apartment complexes, strata groups and builder groups across the city.
Those jobs demand a particular discipline — inductions, working around trading hours, corporate etiquette on site, documentation that survives an audit. But the business was built on small operators: the workshop, the fish and chip shop, the hairdressing supplier with three stores and two warehouses. Both get the same technicians and the same standards.
Our objective
Build positive long-term relationships. That sounds like a line until you look at how the work arrives — almost all of it is referral or repeat. Clients like KGarage have been with us since day one. That only happens if the systems keep working and the phone gets answered.
What we are not
We are not a call centre with a franchise network. We are not tied to a monitoring contract that locks you in for five years. And we will not quote you a system you do not need — if a service and reconfiguration of what you already own fixes the problem, that is the quote you will get.

Who owns and runs Nootz?
Daniel Ruja founded Nootz Security Services in 2014 and still leads the business. He has over 15 years in the security technical field and came up through front-line installation work, which is why the company is built around technicians rather than salespeople.
What does "brand independent" actually mean?
It means we hold no exclusive supply agreement that obliges us to push a particular manufacturer. We install Inner Range, Bosch, Tecom, Hanwha Wisenet, Hikvision, Dahua, Aiphone, Comelit, Genetec, March Networks and Ubiquiti, and we recommend based on your site and budget. If the cheaper option genuinely does the job, that is what we will quote.
Who are your clients?
Our work spans Woolworths, Coles, Australia Post, Big W, the Reserve Bank of Australia, the City of Melbourne, Melbourne Building Management, early learning centres, and a long list of apartment complexes, strata groups and builders — alongside the local workshops, retailers and offices that built the business.
Are your technicians police checked?
Yes. Every technician is licensed under our VIC Security Licence 937-301-20S, police checked, and trained in corporate site etiquette — which matters when the job is inside a bank branch, a supermarket during trade, or an occupied apartment building.
What insurance do you carry?
Full public liability and professional indemnity cover. We can supply certificates of currency for building management, owners corporations or head contractors, and we are used to the induction and site-access paperwork large sites require.
Do you use subcontractors?
Our own technicians do the security and network work. For genuinely out-of-scope trades — structural, electrical switchboard work, specialist rigging — we use an established network of licensed contractors we have worked with for years, and we manage them so you still have one point of contact.
How do you handle owners corporation and body corporate work?
We understand the etiquette and the approval process, which is where most jobs stall. Quotes are written so a committee can read them, variations are documented with photos and emailed for approval, and we allow for the reality that decisions take a meeting cycle. That alone removes weeks of delay.
Where are you based?
Dandenong, Victoria — and we service all metropolitan Melbourne suburbs. Being south-east based means we are quick through Dandenong, Keysborough, Hallam, Narre Warren and Frankston, and we work the eastern corridor daily.
