Why Nootz
Brand independent, which means honest advice
Most security companies are locked into one manufacturer. Their recommendation is decided before they see your site.
Nootz isn't tied to any brand or supplier. We install Inner Range, Bosch, Tecom, Hanwha Wisenet, Hikvision, Dahua, Aiphone, Comelit, Genetec, March Networks and Ubiquiti — and we'll tell you plainly when the cheaper option is the right one. That independence is the single biggest reason clients like Woolworths, Coles, Australia Post, Big W, the Reserve Bank of Australia and the City of Melbourne keep calling us back.
Daniel Ruja has been on the tools for over 15 years and still runs every job through the same test: would this system stand up on the night something actually happens?
- Quick to respond to emergenciesPriority attendance for contracted sites, day or night.
- Fast, easy-to-read quotesItemised and in plain English — you can compare them properly.
- Full transparencyDetailed fault reports with photos, uploaded to our systems and emailed to you.
- Body corporate literateWe know the OC approval process, so approvals don't stall the job.
- Clean as you goNo visible cabling, no rubbish left behind — ever.
- Tested before we leaveEvery device commissioned and signed off on site.

Most systems we are called to inspect were never broken. They were never set up properly.
Cameras aimed at a wall. A recorder that stopped writing eleven months ago. Motion sensors covering the corridor but not the roller door they came through. An alarm nobody arms because it false-triggers every second Tuesday.
A free site walk-through tells you which of those is true on your site — in writing, with photos, whether or not you ever buy anything from us.
How a service call works
From fault logged to fault fixed
No call centre and no ticket that sits for a week. A technician looks at your fault from the start.

Log the fault
Call 0433 633 777 or send the form. Tell us the site, the system and what it is doing — photos of error screens help.
Triage & book
A technician, not a call centre, reviews it and books attendance — same or next business day for most Melbourne commercial faults.
Fault-find on site
Power, cabling, network, storage and configuration checked properly, so we fix the cause rather than swapping parts until it goes away.
Fix, report & recommend
Repaired on the day where parts allow. You get a written fault report with photos and clear recommendations — no upsell.

Proof, not promises
What Melbourne businesses say about us
Security system technicians Melbourne
Security that holds up when it matters
When a security system fails, it fails at the worst time. Cameras that went offline after a power cut, an NVR that stopped recording weeks ago, a door that will not lock at close, an intercom that leaves deliveries at the gate. Our commercial service calls put a licensed technician on site — usually same or next business day — to find the actual fault and fix it, on any brand.
That covers CCTV and NVR repairs, access control repairs on Integriti, Inception and Tecom, intercom repairs including Aiphone and Comelit, alarm faults and false alarms, and the network and PoE switching underneath all of it. Every job ends with a fault report, photos and plain-English recommendations.
Built for retail and commercial sites
Commercial and retail sites do not fail the way people expect. Losses concentrate at the till, the stock room door, the loading dock and the fence line — and those are precisely the four positions a cheap quote leaves uncovered, because they are the awkward ones to cable.
That is what the free security system audit is for. We check what is actually installed, whether it is recording, whether the coverage matches the risk, and whether the configuration matches how your business really runs. You get the findings in writing whether or not you ever buy anything from us.
What separates a good install from a cheap one
The camera is rarely the problem. Placement, lens choice, lighting, retention and network design decide whether footage is usable as evidence or a grey blur a court will ignore. One of our clients had audio from an IP camera pick up an altercation forty metres away — that recording ended up as evidence. That only happens when someone thought about the install.
The same applies underneath. A CCTV or access system is only as reliable as the structured cabling and network beneath it, which is why we do both. We also document every network we build — switch names, port-to-port connections, VLAN structure, rack layouts — which is rare in this industry and invaluable the day something breaks.
Systems that grow instead of getting replaced
We design for the site you will have in five years, not just the one in front of us today. Adding doors to an access control system, cameras to an existing NVR or a second store to a retail rollout should be a small job — and on a properly designed system it is. Where that is not true, we will tell you before you spend the money, not after.
Written for the site, not the brochure
Every system is specified against the premises in front of us. A supermarket needs aisle-head cameras and a cool room on its own alarm zone. A distribution centre needs the identification happening at the gate, not in the racking. An office tenancy needs an access log more than it needs another camera. Those are different systems, and quoting them the same way is how businesses end up paying for equipment that answers the wrong question.

Answers
Frequently asked questions
Straight answers to the questions we get asked most. If yours isn't here, call us on 0433 633 777 — you'll speak to a technician, not a call centre.
What does a commercial security service call cost?
A call-out fee plus labour, confirmed before we attend, with parts quoted on top if needed. Most single faults — a camera offline, a failed NVR hard drive, a door that will not lock — are fixed in one visit, and every call ends with a written fault report with photos. For new systems, a four to eight camera commercial CCTV system usually runs $2,500 to $7,000 installed. See service and fault call-outs.
What kinds of business do you work with?
Our core work is retail stores, supermarkets and grocers, warehouses and industrial sites, and offices across Melbourne — from a single shopfront to multi-site rollouts. We also install home security systems for people who want commercial-grade equipment rather than a hardware-store kit.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes — Nootz holds VIC Security Licence 937-301-20S and carries full public liability and professional indemnity cover. Every technician is licensed, police-checked and trained in corporate site etiquette. We can supply certificates of currency on request for building management or body corporate approvals.
What areas of Melbourne do you cover?
All metropolitan Melbourne. We are based in Dandenong and work heavily through the south-east — Keysborough, Hallam, Narre Warren, Noble Park, Clayton and Frankston — as well as the inner city — Melbourne CBD, Southbank, Docklands and Richmond — and the eastern suburbs including Nunawading and Ringwood. Fully equipped vehicles mean we carry stock to site rather than making you wait on a second visit.
Can you take over a system another company installed?
Yes — existing-system fault finding is most of our service work. We service and reprogram most major platforms including Inner Range Integriti and Inception, Tecom Challenger, Bosch, Hills Reliance, Aiphone, Comelit, Hanwha Wisenet, Hikvision, Dahua, Axis, Vivotek, March Networks and Ubiquiti. We start with an audit so you know exactly what you have, what still works and what is worth replacing rather than being told to rip everything out.
My cameras are not recording — can you fix it?
Usually in one visit. The common causes are a failed surveillance hard drive in the NVR, a PoE switch or power supply fault, or storage that was never configured for proper retention. We check drive health, fix the fault and confirm footage is recording before we leave. See CCTV and NVR repairs.
How quickly can you respond to a fault?
Contracted maintenance clients get priority response, typically same or next business day, with 24/7 emergency attendance for critical faults such as a failed alarm on a monitored site. Most other commercial and retail faults across Melbourne are attended same or next business day — see service and fault call-outs.
Do you sell equipment as well as install it?
Yes. Our online shop carries security, networking and IT hardware at trade-informed pricing, delivered Australia-wide. If you would rather we supplied and installed it, ask for a combined quote — it is usually the cheaper path once labour is factored in.
