Real deployment experience

The network everything else depends on

Cameras, access controllers, intercoms, point of sale and every business application ride on the same infrastructure. When the network is poorly designed, every one of those systems inherits the problem — and the security company blames IT while IT blames the security company.

We are Ubiquiti specialists with real-world deployment experience across Melbourne business sites, and because we install the security systems too, the network is designed knowing exactly what it has to carry.

  • Gateway & routingSized for your connection and traffic, with sensible firewall policy.
  • PoE switchingPower budget calculated for cameras, access points and door controllers.
  • WiFi designAccess point placement, channel planning and power tuning — not guesswork.
  • VLAN segmentationSecurity devices, guest WiFi and business traffic properly separated.
  • Rack & patchingTidy, labelled comms rooms you can actually work in.
  • DocumentationComplete topology diagrams handed over at the end of every job.

What we do with it

UniFi services we provide

Design & deployment

Gateway, switching and access point selection sized to your site, then installed and configured.

Network audits

Architecture review, performance analysis and a written report with a topology diagram.

Segmentation & security

VLANs, firewall policy and guest isolation so a compromised device cannot reach everything.

Racks & cabling

Structured Cat6 and fibre, rack builds, UPS and labelling to Australian standards.

Ongoing management

Monitoring, firmware currency and change management under a support plan.

Security integration

PoE budgeting and segmentation for CCTV, access control and intercom devices.

Melbourne installer

Ubiquiti UniFi installers across Melbourne

We design, install, audit and manage high-performance business networks across Melbourne — specialising in Ubiquiti systems, structured infrastructure and complete network documentation.

The documentation is worth repeating because it is the part almost nobody supplies. Every network we build is handed over with clear charts showing all network devices, switch names and models, port-to-port connections, VLAN structure, IP addressing, physical cable pathways, rack layouts and patch panel labelling. Ask your current provider for the same and see what comes back.

Whether you need a single office network, a warehouse Wi-Fi deployment or a multi-building site with fibre backbone, we scope it properly and quote it itemised. See data cabling and network installation for the full service.

Answers

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers to the questions we get asked most. If yours isn't here, call us on 0433 633 777 — you'll speak to a technician, not a call centre.

Why Ubiquiti rather than enterprise brands?

UniFi delivers commercial-grade routing, switching and Wi-Fi with a management interface a business can actually operate, without per-device licensing. For most Melbourne SMEs it hits the point where capability, cost and manageability meet.

Will UniFi fix my Wi-Fi dead spots?

Only if the design is right. Most poor Wi-Fi is caused by wrong access point placement, channel overlap, mismatched transmit power or a flat unsegmented network — not by the brand of hardware. We audit first and fix the cause, which sometimes means fewer access points, not more.

Can UniFi carry CCTV and access control traffic?

Yes, with proper VLAN segmentation and PoE budgeting. Since we install both the cameras and the network, we design the two together — security devices on an unsegmented business network is one of the most common risks we find on audits.

What does a UniFi deployment cost?

A small office with a gateway, one PoE switch and three access points typically runs $3,500 to $6,000 installed including configuration and documentation. Larger sites scale with switch count, access points and cabling. Existing cabling reduces it substantially.

Do you provide network documentation?

Always. Switch names, models and locations, port-to-port connections, VLAN structure, IP addressing, cable pathways, rack layouts and patch panel labelling. It is rare in this industry and invaluable the day something breaks. See data cabling and networks.

Will you work alongside our IT provider?

Regularly and happily. We handle the physical layer and hand over clean, labelled infrastructure with diagrams. Most IT providers are relieved rather than territorial.

Can you manage the network ongoing?

Yes — ongoing management plans cover monitoring, firmware currency, configuration changes and support. Or we can hand over full control to you or your IT provider. Both are fine.

Can you audit our existing network?

Yes. Advanced network architecture audits cover switch and VLAN structure, PoE budget, Wi-Fi coverage and performance bottlenecks, and you get a written report with a topology diagram — often the first one the business has ever had.
